Grief & Loss

You will lose someone you can’t live without, and your heart will be badly broken, and the bad news is that you never completely get over the loss of your beloved.  But this is also the good news.  They live forever in your broken heart that doesn’t seal back up.  And you come through.  It’s like having a broken leg that never heals perfectly–that still hurts when the weather gets cold, but you learn to dance with a limp.        ~   Anne Lamott

Grief is a normal part of loving and losing the person you loved, but it can be complicated for many reasons. When someone is such an integral part of our lives, it can be devastating when they are no longer here. Also, what is unresolved in a relationship before someone dies can make the grieving process more difficult. For many, grief becomes overwhelming, and can even lead to symptoms of depression. Life is not the same without the departed one, and many just don’t know how to move forward.

If grief has become too much for you, therapy might help you come to terms with the loss of the one who had been so important to you. In a caring environment, you can get the support and relief you need as you release your loved one so that you can again find meaning and vitality in your life.
